Sisters and Brothers,

Work continues to pick up across Los Angeles, with steady activity at LAUSD and new momentum on the MTA Westside Purple Line, Pierce College, and Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey projects. We’re also encouraged by the L.A. City Council’s recent vote approving the long-overdue modernization and expansion of the Los Angeles Convention Center, a $2.6 billion project that will bring valuable employment opportunities for our members.

Thank you to all who took the time to complete our survey on upcoming contract negotiations and to those who attended our recent town hall meeting. Collectively, your voices strengthen our hand as we enter negotiations and ensure the issues that matter most to our members remain front and center at the table.

Finally, thank you to everyone who supported the Unit 9 Welfare Committee at the Local 11 picnic, especially those who volunteered at our booth. Your efforts strengthen our Welfare Fund and expand our capacity to assist members in need.

In solidarity,
Deon J. Mayes
Unit 9 Business Representative
