This month's News @ 11 covers a range of powerful stories reflecting the strength and momentum of IBEW Local 11 heading into spring 2026.

At the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, Local 11 members are helping bring the $85 million Multi-Agency Regional Resiliency Center (MARRC) to the finish line ahead of the California Poppy Festival. The project — a joint effort by the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, LA County, and the Antelope Valley Union High School District — will serve as both a community event space and a regional disaster response hub.

This edition also celebrates National Apprenticeship Week (April 26–May 2) with stories from apprentices Savonnah Branch and Marco Wu, whose journeys through the Second Call program show what the IBEW's commitment to opening doors and building futures truly looks like.

Members interested in starting their own businesses will want to read about the five-day Contractor Business Course, taking place May 4–8 at the Pasadena office. Hosted by PRO UNION Consulting, the course has helped launch hundreds of union shops nationwide.

Business Manager Robert Corona shares updates on the union's strong work outlook — with major projects ramping up at the LA Convention Center and LAX — and recaps the second annual Charity Golf Tournament, which has brought the Knowledge is Power Scholarship Foundation to $250,000 and counting. President Alton Wilkerson reflects on active contract negotiations and the union's organizing wins at the IBEW 9th District Progress Meeting.
