Organizing Report – September 2022

I hope this update finds you and your loved ones healthy and blessed. Please welcome all new members you find on your jobs or at our meetings. We are consistently organizing new members into our ranks but are paying special attention to any electrician currently working for Berg, Helix, or AJ Kirkwood. Should you know anyone working for these three or any other non-union contractor please refer them to our Organizing Department.

We have recently signed the following contractors, Doneen Electric, Maximum Electric, Frontier Kemper, and Global Signals. Should you take a call for any of these contractors please be patient with them should there be any missteps as they may be new to the ways a Union contractor should be and may need some time to adjust to the Union way. The Organizers, some staff, and Executive Board members recently attended the IBEW Membership Development Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Your local received an award for most NEBF Contractors signed last year. We are very proud to receive this or any recognition as the MD Conference is inclusive of every IBEW Local in the US and Canada.

During this conference, our Business Manager was called into meetings to discuss national issues, some organizers were asked to sit on discussion panels or give presentations which goes to show the work that is done by this local is recognized nationwide. But we do not do the work for the recognition and so we stay humble and continue to organize members and contractors, as organizing is the life blood of the local.
