Compliance Report — December 2023

As many of our members know, I have been working with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) regarding delays in the processing of our members applications for both new and renewal state certifications and the scheduling of exams. While the DIR continues to face a worker shortage, I am here to help facilitate the process when roadblocks arise.

According to the department, exam applications are processed within 30 days, and it takes 24 hours for this info to transmit to our testing vendor, PSI.  After that, exams are scheduled, and the onus is on the applicants. If you receive notification that you can schedule your exam and it is not available in PSI within a week, please contact me.

If you have applied and have not heard back from the DIR for a few months, please contact me at martinez@ibew11.org. In all instances I will need copies of your transmittals to the DIR, your reference number and driver’s license number.
