Manufacturing Report – August 2022

Hello to all from the Industrial/Manufacturing side of Local 11.

I will start with Kinkisharyo Unit 1710. It has been a busy month with negotiations, and we are winding down. Hopefully we will be able to have a ratification vote by September. Steward Mark Hogains had a big grievance victory and recently had a write-up thrown out for one of our members, so I want to thank him for a job well done.

Covanta Unit 15 – we are preparing to start negotiating a new contract at the end of the year, so proposal surveys should be going out shortly and I look forward to improving upon the previous contract.

Finally, I have been sitting in with our affiliates at SAMWD IBEW Local 11 Unit 76 negotiations. They have been at the table for many months working hard on improving their contract with the Metropolitan Water District. Hopefully they will be able to wrap things up with their contract in the coming months and have a strong contract for their and our members that work for the MWD.
