EAA at the Table

Due to the offset of raises during the pandemic, EAA was recently back at the table and successfully negotiated an additional 3% increase for our members effective July 3, 2022! This means that EAA members will receive 8.5% in pensionable raises between June 2022 and July 2023, bringing the 4 ½ year contract to a total of 14.15% pensionable increases!

New and Exciting Offerings!

Effective July 1, 2022, EAA now offers every member a free $10,000 life insurance benefit and free legal services for unlimited use on multiple legal matters including estate planning, wills, transfer of deeds and much more.

Also on July 1, EAA launched a new and improved website (eaaunion.org) which contains a dedicated Members Headquarters page where dues-paying members can easily access timely and relevant union information and resources, and where they have access to all of their union benefits.

EAA now has a one-of-a-kind Membership Training Program. This program is geared toward helping members pass open or promotional city exams. We launched the program in June with a four-session preparation for the Management Analyst exam, and each of the four sessions was attended by over 200 members eager to develop their knowledge of city structure, budget and personnel policies. The latest training is in preparation for the City Environmental Compliance Inspector exam. In the trainings, we provide subject matter experts, such as retired city employees, to provide training on the relevant topics contained in the applicable city exam. We’re excited to continue offering these opportunities and are working on future trainings such as “Preparing for an Interview” and “Supervisor’s School.”

Events

In spite of all the new happenings, EAA has also been busy in the social department! Team EAA, our union running team, participated in the Victory for Victims 5k, benefitting victims of abuse. We also attended an Angel City Football Club match on July 9, a family-friendly event shared with 250 fellow EAA union sisters and brothers. In addition, we look forward to seeing many of you on Union Night at Dodger Stadium on Friday, August 5 when EAA will be represented by 220 members and staff.
