District 5 Report — February 2022

Good day, Brothers and Sisters,

As of this writing, we continue work on the two 25 MW solar projects with Rosendin Electric and Ferreira Construction. We are also working on two 125 MW battery storage projects with CSI Electric and Sargent Electric. All Power Systems is working the bus charging stations at the Antelope Valley Transit Authority yard. Pacific Industrial Electric is working at Antelope Valley Hospital and several other contractors are working the Kaiser facilities around Antelope Valley.

Hot off the press is the new one million sq. ft. Amazon project being built in Palmdale. We are very close to another Community Workforce Agreement for this project. Once it is finalized, I will put the word out. Congratulations to Brother King Moore, currently a Lancaster planning commissioner who is running for Lancaster City Council. Whatever help you can give King would be greatly appreciated.

Again, Brothers and Sisters, if you are interested in taking a class in District 5, please call the hall to get your name on the list. Don’t forget our Unit 5 meetings are the second Tuesday of every month at 5 p.m.  Come on over and be informed about what’s going on in your area and enjoy the comradery.

Thanks to all our officers and members for your participation and help in our never-ending struggle to give our members a better standard of living.

God bless the IBEW!

In Solidarity,
Mitch Klein
