District 3 Report — January 2021

Happy New Year from District 3,

I hope this correspondence finds you and your family well. As 2021 begins, hope springs eternal. Unfortunately, the virus continues, but brighter days are ahead. The books have slowed a little, but there are still a lot of members in the field working and the economy promises to gain momentum as the year progresses.

As for the work picture in District 3, not a lot has change in one short month, but LAX will be moving forward with another $6 billion in improvements which include a Terminal 9, and a Concourse 0. This year the Automated People Mover should start to be manning up for what is to be expected to be a long-term project. The Los Angeles Community College District has also allocated more money for construction and improvements, so keep an eye on those projects.

In closing, I encourage every member to know which district you are working in. Should you have a question or issue, please call the appropriate agent. We represent a lot of members and cover over 4500 square miles so we might not be able to answer your call upon first attempt, but please leave a message and I promise the agent will return your call as soon as humanly possible.

As always, it’s an honor and a pleasure to serve the members of Local #11.

Fraternally,

Mike Costigan
