District 5 — November Report

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

As we continue in the Fall season, I hope you and your families are safe from this ongoing pandemic. We will continue to see calls coming in from the Defense Plants. Rosendin Electric is just starting the solar project and Taft Electric is continuing work at Antelope Valley College.

We have more work coming from Antelope Valley Hospital and the 100 MW Battery Storage facility is seeking bids at this time.

Thank you to our Business Manager Joel Barton and President Rusty Roten for all their help in securing our Community Workforce Agreements.  We continue to have our food drive for the upcoming holidays and our ongoing tool drive in memory of departed Brother Deon Watson. Whatever help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to thank our Organizer Alton Wilkerson and Manufacturing/Civil Service Representative Kristian Mendoza for doing a great job not only in District 5 but also for our entire Local. Please do not forget to sign up for classes to keep your state license current. All classes are online through the ETI. Our Unit 5 Zoom meetings are the second Tuesday of every month at 5pm.

Thank you to stewards Summer Trout at Northrop, Aldaberto Gonzalez at Lockheed and Peter Sisson at Antelope Valley College. Thank you to our officers for all their participation and help in District 5.

Have a Happy, Healthy and Safe Thanksgiving.

God Bless,
Mitch Klein.
